1. Before you drain your spa stop by a Goodall Pools store to pick-up a bottle of Spa Flush. This product, circulated for 30 minutes, will remove hair and other 'gunk' that has built up in your plumbing.
2. After using the spa flush (according to label directions), turn off the electricity to the spa ,drain all the water using a submersible pump or other drainage system.
3. Remove all the water that's left in the bottom of the spa with a shop-vac.
4. Remove all the water that is in the plumbing. This may involve opening the pumps and blowing air through the plumbing. Be sure to adjust you diverter-valve during this process so that you remove any water that is in them.
5. Make sure you remove all of the water from the plumbing/pump/heater!. Otherwise, you will inevitably have cracks and leaks the next time you refill the tub.
6. Clean the spa surface with Spa Cleaning Mitts, and the filter with Filter Cleaner and Degreaser . This helps to keep the spa sanitary while not in use and makes starting the spa that much easier in the spring.
7. Clean and Condition the spa's cover with Sunstar Cover Cleaner and Conditioner. This helps to prevent damage to the cover caused by snow and debris.
