Fiberglass Construction

A Fiberglass pool is a long-term investment. However, all fiberglass pools are not created equal. Leisure Pools USA has created a unique and impressive process for manufacturing Fiberglass pool shells.  They are so confident in the structure of their fiberglass they back it up with a 35 year structural warranty

Fiberglass

The fiberglass used in a Leisure Pool is supplied by PPG. They use the highest quality Hybon 6000 which has excellent consistency and resin impregnation properties.

PPG’s fiberglass businesses continue to expand through innovation and leadership, making PPG one of the largest global manufacturers of continuous-strand fiberglass. PPG Fiberglass is a world leader in manufacturing continuous strand fiberglass used in a wide range of fiberglass applications.

Resin

Most fiberglass pool manufacturers use low cost “odd lot” resins that can be procured cheaply. Isophthalics resins are stronger, more durable and more resistant to corrosion, which of course makes them more expensive.

Leisure Pools uses the highest quality isophthalics resin available from AOC, a world leader in resin technology.

AOC isophthalic resin is generally used in the manufacture of water and petroleum tanks. These superior resins possess a far greater resistance, strength and heat tolerance than that of the more common general purpose resins.

To our knowledge Leisure Pools is the only USA manufacturer to use this high quality resin. Why? Simply because they are committed to building the very best pool available and will not compromise on the quality of their product. This is what allows them to stand behind their 35 year structural and 15 year color warranty. For more details on the resin click here.

Aquaguard® Gel Coat

The finish on a Leisure Pool not only looks stunning, it is the result of years of research and development aimed at leading the fiberglass pool industry.

Aquaguard® Gel Coat finishes were originally developed and tested by Fiberglass International (FGI) through the 1980's and 1990's in Australia. Over the years of development, the product called for exceptional chemical resistance, mechanical strength and weathering properties, especially the latter for use in exterior applications in Australia where the UV intensity is extremely high.

Today, the new and improved Aquaguard is manufactured under license in the United States. Aquaguard® technology is simply unique and has been subject to extensive testing programs (both accelerated and real-time) concentrating on a combination of weathering and chemical resistance. The Aquaguard® gel coats:

  • Exhibit outstanding UV and fade resistance
  • Provide unique shimmer and sparkle finish
  • Are formulated as a one coat sprayable system with excellent application characteristics. (Not only are they easy to apply in the factory, they are easy to repair if damaged.)
  • Are specifically designed for swimming pool applications
This above all else sets Leisure Pools apart from the competition.

Aquaguard Gelcoats are available in four rich fade resistant colors
